The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa – Subclass 494 is aimed at allowing working professionals who want to live and work in Australia. The goal is to allow employers in designated regional areas of Australia to sponsor overseas workers for roles that cannot be filled locally.
This five-year provisional visa provides a clear pathway to permanent residency through the Subclass 191 visa.
This stream is available to people who are granted applicants with a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482/457 visa holders transitioning to PR and have full-time (or under transitional arrangements) for that employer for at least two years during the last three years.
