Subclass 482 is meant to assist Australian employers in filling their work-based skilled vacancies due to the lack of suitable local workers. This visa is a great pathway to be in Australia on a temporary stay while being a strong part of the Australian market. You must have the right skills to do the Job.

The subclass 482 comprises three different streams, each of which caters to varied employment requirements:
1. Core Skills Stream
- For occupations that are listed on the Core Skills Occupation List.
- Enables you to remain in Australia until up to 4 years
- IELTS/PTE– 5 overall and each /Equivalent.
- Skill assessment– You may be exempted, check eligibility with us
- The work must be done for an approved sponsor in the nominated occupation
- 1 YEAR OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS.
From AUD3,210 for main applicant.
2. Specialist Skills Stream
- Enables you to remain in Australia until up to 4 years
- Occupation listed in Major Groups 1,2,4,5 or 6 ANZSCO.
- Presents a possible window to permanent residency.
- Specialist Skills Income Threshold.
3. Labour Agreement Stream
- Skilled workers that have been nominated by a labour agreement between an employer and the Australian Government
- Applicable to special professions not present at generic skilled occupation lists
In order to qualify, you will have to be nominated by a suitable Australian employer, fulfil skill and experience requirements and be able to demonstrate proficiency of English language.
