Subclass 300

Subclass 300

Are you going to marry an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen, and happen to be engaged? Then there is no better channel than the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) at your disposal. In ORIS Migration Services, we guide couples of their first step in establishing their future together in Australia which begins with a successful visa application.

What is a Subclass 300 Visa?

Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300) enables you to come to Australia to marry your Australian partner within 9 to 15 months of the payment of the visa. When you are married, you will be able then to apply Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801) in order to remain in Australia on a permanent basis.

This is a temporary sponsored visa, which is made available to individuals outside Australia, who are fiancé or fiancées of an Australian sponsor, and wish to marry and settle as soon as the visa is issued.

Who Can Apply?
In order to be eligible to get a Subclass 300 visa, you have to:
  • Be engaged to an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or a qualified New Zealand citizen
  • Be abroad during the time of submitting and upon approval of the visa
  • Plan getting married to your spouse in the validity period of the visa
  • Show that you and your partner have met face to face and are acquainted with each other
  • Pass the health and character requirements of the Australian government
